Aasara means shelter or support in Hindi & Marathi.

Aasara's work began with  REV. Fr. Joe D'Gama meeting streetchildren & youth at Thane Railway platform for more than a year and was officially inaugrated on 30th November 1993 at Nav Yuak  Mitra Mandal at Chendani Koli wada, Thane East by Rev. Fr. Rocky Banz .Director.Office for Social Action.Aasara now works for empowering of Streetchildren and Youth through Vocational or Formal school.
